‘Fields of Green’ is an illuminating painting that represents the mosaic of horticulture present in New Zealand. From farmland to kiwifruit, citrus and avocado, the variation in green is unique to this country and can range from very dark to luminescent.

‘Fields of Green’ is part of a body of work experimenting with Photoluminescence and analogous colour schemes in the same abstract format. Art, colour and shapes emulating without an external light source is a fascination to which I hope to take as far as technology will provide.

Layered acrylic mixed with a gloss medium (for its transparency) achieves an effect of intermingled tones of colour and provides a good base for the Photoluminescence pigment; to which has been mixed with PVA, then sealed with Photoluminescence paint. My other works have a different technique with the same effect but in different colours.

This piece was a finalist in the 'Miles Art Award 2014'.
